Xeme and Sinic have sent over some photos from their latest exhibition, “Portland Street” which takes places in Hong Kong’s famous red light district.
The photos are below.
PORTLAND STREET
by Xeme and Sinic

Could an exhibition like this take place in North America? I don’t think any of the “red light districts” here would facilitate. I know the broken-window theorists would loser their minds over the idea of publicizing graffiti (or in this case, calligraphy; street art) in the same zone where sex is sold. This whole exhibition is a very interesting concept.

Calligraphy!

I like the contrast of colors (neons) and calligraphy.

(I like this sign the most)
Special thanks to Xeme for sending these over. SALUTE!
In a few days from now, I hope to put together a Q&A with Xeme detailing this exhibition. Keep your eyes open for that.
